Check out this video my student recorded during a lesson I taught demonstrating a 12 bar blues pattern using fingers and pick/plectrum.
This technique is called Hybrid Picking using the chords E7, A7 and B7.
You have to keep the plectrum part picking out the quarter note bass notes and then play the melody and chords using your fingers.
This style of playing is hard first of all, but with a bit of practice and perseverance, you can get a great end result.
My students like to record parts of the lesson on their phone so that they can take this home with them and work on the techniques that have been covered during the lesson.
If you are interested in booking a blues guitar lesson or any style lesson - acoustic and electric please contact me.
I teach all styles, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, to all ages and abilities of students in a studio environment, check out my guitar tuition page for further information and more tutorial videos.
