ABOUT ME
I started playing guitar at the age of 11, quickly developing a passion that would shape my entire career. My first paid gigs followed soon after, performing in bands across social clubs in East London and Essex.
At 16, I went on to study music at college, and by 19 I had already begun teaching guitar — something I continue to do to this day.
Between the ages of 18 and 30, I performed extensively throughout England and Europe with a variety of professional function and tribute bands, building a reputation as a versatile and reliable live guitarist.
At 22, I landed my first major session role with East West Records (Warner Music Group), where I assembled and performed in a live band for soul/garage artist Robbie Craig. Robbie achieved major chart success with Woman Trouble, featuring Craig David and The Artful Dodger.
By 24, I was working as a session guitarist for an artist signed to Easy St Records, specialising in nylon-strung guitar. At 27, I became a finalist in Guitarist of the Year (2002), further cementing my professional reputation.
Studio & Live Career
Between the ages of 26 and 34, I built and ran my own recording studio in East London, working with solo artists and bands across a range of genres. During this time, I also moved into the wedding industry — performing as a solo guitarist and forming a successful wedding party band that continues to thrive.
At 34, I relocated to Billericay, Essex, focusing on expanding my guitar teaching business while continuing to perform professionally.
At 37, I returned to high-profile session work with 90s soul star Kenny Thomas, known for hits such as Thinking About Your Love. This led to performances at major venues including London’s The O2 Arena, as well as shows alongside The Jacksons.
In recent years, I have:
-
Performed in theatres across the UK with the Queens of Country Music show
-
Played at C2C Festival at The O2 with Canadian platinum-selling country artist Jessica Moskaluke
-
Performed with UK ska favourites Death of Guitar Pop
-
Played guitar for multi award-winning blues artist Connor Selby
-
Collaborated with world-renowned drummer Keith Carlock (Steely Dan/Oz Noy)
From 2020 onwards, I’ve focused heavily on writing and releasing my own music, securing a publishing deal and developing my solo acoustic projects, as well as the Glen Parish Trio (available on Spotify).
My Blues Album
In 2026, I started work on my blues album, due for completion by the end of the year. I’ll be performing both guitar and vocals, exploring a mix of electric blues styles. I’m excited about the creative process and can’t wait to bring the music to life in live performances.
The Stable Room – Billericay
Since 2024, I’ve been curating and hosting a monthly live music night in a converted barn in Billericay, Essex. What began as a passion project has grown into a thriving, regularly sold-out event.
Each month features a special guest artist, either backed by the house band or performing with their own musicians. The night regularly attracts top London and UK session players and has built a reputation for exceptional musicianship and an unforgettable live atmosphere.
YouTube & Online Teaching
Since 2024, I’ve grown my YouTube channel to over 12,000 subscribers, reaching guitarists around the world. My lessons cover a wide range of styles and techniques, helping players at all levels develop their craft.
Through the platform, I’ve had the privilege of teaching professional musicians, including Nate Ruess of Fun, known for the global hit We Are Young. Nate has also written for Maroon 5 and collaborated with Pink.
The channel continues to grow alongside my Patreon platform (launched in 2025), where subscribers gain access to exclusive tabs, backing tracks and in-depth video lessons — complementing both my online and in-studio teaching.
